Privacy policy
How we handle your personal data.
Who is responsible
Online Quran, represented by Imam Syed Siraj Munir. Contact: privacy@onlinequran.me. Postal address: see the legal notice.
What we collect and why
When you send a form (trial lesson, contact, financial assistance or review), we store what you enter so we can answer you and, if you join, arrange your lessons. The legal basis is your request and our contract with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and your consent where you give it (Article 6(1)(a)). We also store a shortened, coded form of your IP address to stop spam and abuse (our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)).
If you send a review, we publish your name, country, the course, your rating, your text and, if you add one, your photo. We never publish your email.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across websites. A single technical cookie is set only when you send a form, so that the form works. It is deleted when you close your browser.
Services we use
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that forms are sent by people, not bots. Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address for this purpose.
- YouTube videos, where shown, use YouTube's privacy enhanced mode. YouTube receives data only when you play a video.
- Zoom or Google Meet are used for lessons, under their own privacy policies.
- Wise processes payments under its own privacy policy.
- Our website and email are hosted by our hosting provider, which stores the data on our behalf.
Fonts are stored on our own server, so no data is sent to font services.
How long we keep data
We keep form messages as long as needed to answer you and to run your lessons. Messages we no longer need are deleted within 24 months. Reviews stay published until you ask us to remove them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to limit or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable form. You can withdraw consent at any time. Write to privacy@onlinequran.me. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority in your country.
Children
For students under 16, a parent or guardian should send the forms.
