Frequently asked questions
Answers about lessons, teachers, fees and technology.
Lessons
How do the lessons work?
Each lesson is live and one to one with your teacher on Zoom or Google Meet. The usual plan is 4 lessons a week, 30 minutes each.
What age can children start?
Many children start Noorani Qaida at about 4 or 5 years old. The teacher adapts to the child.
Can adults and new Muslims join?
Yes. Adults of any age are welcome, including complete beginners.
Do I need to know Arabic?
No. The teacher explains in English, Arabic, Portuguese or Urdu.
Teachers
Who are the teachers?
Experienced teachers with 10 to 30 years of teaching the Quran each, including two PhD scholars. See the teachers page.
Can I choose a female teacher?
Yes. Our female teachers teach women, girls, and boys up to the age of 7.
Why are there no photos of the female teachers?
Out of respect for their privacy, we do not publish their photographs.
Fees and payment
How much do lessons cost?
$100 to $120 a month with our experienced teachers, and $150 to $200 a month with a senior scholar, for 4 lessons a week. Hifz fees depend on the hours.
How do I pay?
Monthly, through Wise.
Is there a family discount?
Yes, 20 to 30 percent when more than one family member studies.
What if I cannot afford the fee?
Contact us privately through the financial assistance page.
Technology
What do I need?
A computer, tablet or phone, a stable internet connection, and Zoom or Google Meet.
What if my connection is weak?
Headphones and a quiet room help most. If a lesson cannot continue because of the teacher's connection, it is made up.
