It is never too late. Start from the letters or correct your reading, privately and without pressure.

الْمَاهِرُ بِالْقُرْآنِ مَعَ السَّفَرَةِ الْكِرَامِ الْبَرَرَةِ، وَالَّذِي يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ وَيَتَتَعْتَعُ فِيهِ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ شَاقٌّ لَهُ أَجْرَانِ

The one who is skilled in the Quran will be with the noble and righteous scribes, and the one who recites it and stumbles over it, finding it difficult, will have a double reward.

Learning as an adult

Many adults did not have the chance to learn as children, or learned without a teacher who corrected them. One to one lessons are private, so you can ask anything and go at your own pace.

New Muslims are very welcome. The teacher can start with the letters, teach the short surahs you need for prayer, and explain their meaning along the way.

Noorani Qaida, starting with the letters and their sounds.
You read, but with mistakes
Quran reading with correction, then tajweed.
You need surahs for prayer
Learn Al-Fatiha and short surahs with correct pronunciation.
You read well
Tajweed in depth, or memorisation.
